will i see fps loss with 6700k and dual 390x+m.2 due to pcie lanes

Due to the 6700k having less pcie lanes. Will I see a performance drop with I cfx two or 3 r9 390x cards? I will also be using. M.2 drive.

Thanks

If I'm not mistaken I believe there's a very miniscule performance difference between GPU's running at 8x vs 16x. Will you actually see it, I don't think so.

- EK Supremacy EVO CPU Block - EK FC 1080 GPU Blocks - EK XRES 100 DDC - EK Coolstream XE 360 - EK Coolstream XE 240 -

how about 4x

Nope :) You have 20 lanes to that's 2 8x for the GPUs and a 4x for the M.2 drive.  If you went with 3 cards you'll be running 4x on the GPUs, which should still have plenty enough bandwidth.

4x?

I thought Gpus needed 8x min

Nvidia SLI requires 8x but AMD Xfire should be fine with 4x. PCI-e 3.0 4x has around 31Gbps bandwidth so there shouldn't be too much performance loss.

so 2 way 390x is ok, but if i use 3 way, will i see the same framerate because if the bandwidth?

In terms of real-life perceived performance, there is a negligible difference between Gen 3 4x, 8x, and 16x

Primary Build: i7-4790 · 16GB Hynix DDR3-1600 · Sapphire Tri-X R9 390x · NZXT S340 · Win10 Pro · Seagate Barracuda 1TB T_T

Portable: 2015 Retina Macbook Pro 13" · i5-5257u · 512GB PCIe SSD · Intel Iris 6100 T_T

so 3 ways cfx on a 6700k would have better fps than 2 way cfx, even though its running at lower bandwidth?

Negligible difference. Your card will not come close to using the 7.877 GB/s bandwidth.

so there will be sufficient fps gain thats not bottlenecked by the pcie?

PCIe is not going to be a bottleneck.
