RX100 IV vs G70

Hey everyone!

 

I'm trying to make up my mind to get the right camera for my purpose, it's mainly vlogging but als oa little bit of photography (and I mean a LITTLE bit).

Should I get the RX100 IV and have it a bit more handy and compact or should I get the more professional looking Panasonic G70 (which doens't overheat when filming 4k) but is a bit clunky and heavy.

Before you ask, yes I'm strong enough to hold a 600-700gram camera in front of me for a couple of minutes ;-).

I'm not sure you need such a high-end compact for filming vlogs; but out of the two choose the cheaper one.

 

My personal recommendation (given you're not doing any photography) is the Canon Vixia Mini X, if you don't need the 4k (which IMO is overrated anyway).

4K is a overrated, I agree on that but it would be a nice thing to have available. I also just read that the RX100 IV has slow motion (which I could really use) so I'm probably picking that one up, it also has great sound quality so no need for an addon microphone

RX100 MK4.

 

why? you dont need 4k. 1080p60fps is enough.... and plus it takes up so much more space....

Check out MatthewSantoro's vlogs; they're filmed on the Vixia Mini and its audio is pretty good.

 

The RX100IV is a really good camera, and if you absolutely need the 4k go for it; else go for the RX100III or the Vixia Mini.
