Overclock on a non overclock board?

What do you mean a non overclock board?  One that the bios doesn't have an option to increase clock/bus speeds?

Nope, only some boards can do it, and even then, only the high end, non z/x series boards (EG: Some B series).

I don't know for sure, but if you could flash a custom BIOS that allows the clocks to be increased wouldn't this be possible?

No clue.  It was just a kind of theoretical response to being able to overclock boards with no bios options to do so.

I do remember downloading some custom and experimental BIOS builds for my X58 from extremesystems.org a few years back though.

the motherboard also needs to have enough power delivery to OC or it will fry

thats why some motherboards have no overclocking

I was thinking more of how to achieve the goal of overclocking a non overclock board, theoretically.

 

There's probably more than few reasons why the hardware doesn't support overclocking in the first place. O.o
