I want to buy one on one of those cards  https://www.scan.co.uk/products/4gb-evga-gtx-970-hybrid-gaming-pcie-30-(x16)-7010mhz-gddr5-gpu-1140mhz-boost-1279mhz-cores-1664-dp-h or http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Gigabyte-NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-980-4GB-Waterforce-Graphics-Card-GV-N980WAOC-4GD-/361413236047?hash=item5425e8554f:g:BUgAAOSwT~9WjT-c and i don't know which one. People say that 980 is other priest and it's a little better than 970 or should i just wait for the new graphics card to come out and see if the 980 ti goes down?

I DON'T WANT AMD

get an asus if you're buying one now, get the division and far cry primal for free. then water cool it yourself.

i was in this position and opted for the 970, performance of the 980 in comparison didn't justify the cost. it felt like the only real option was a 970 or 980ti

Depending on what CPU you have, you might want to stick to the 970.

The 980 is obviosuly more powerful and watercooling a 970 is imo not worth the price premium.  I would either get a 970 with an aircooler or the 980.

And when the new GPUs come out the 980ti will probably be forgotten like the 780ti before it. Personally im waiting for Polaris/Pascal.

grab a 390x/fury if you're in that bracket. AMD has all but the top tier wrapped (980ti/titan)

They're fucking awesome, best cooling solution for a graphics card in my opinion. Most of the time the temperatures are lower than if the cards connected to a custom loop.

I'd have to disagree that It can cool more than my 360 + 240mm rads on my 970s

Ye Its a great cooling solution for people without loops, my cards don't exceed 47C in most games theres a couple that push em to 51C, but that's with a vmodded and clock modded bios. Theyre idling right now at 26C in a pretty hot room

Yh

then, a GTX 970 is good enough for 1080p...GTX 980 if you want to run mostly maxed settings...980ti for 1440p and above.

980 is optimal for 1080p right now and can fully use the 4GB of memory, it's faster but it also cost more up to you to see if it's worth it check benchmarks i would say if you can afford the 980 then why not you certainly won't regret it looking forward it will last you longer before you require an upgrade..

Same with my 980ti, idles at ambient and peaks at 50c. I should include the caveat that a Hybrid is a great single card cooling solution, I wouldn't say it's ideal for SLI.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

Unless its in something like a Phanteks Enthoo Pro... then again, yeah. Its a bit of a pain in the ass in SLI.

For OP, I can't really fault you if you go for the 970. I mean, its already a pretty good card.

I would be looking at a 390X at that price bracket. If you're sticking with Nvidia then it's hard to say. I feel like the 980 is a little over priced for it's performance at this stage in its lifespan. It's not a bad card... just too pricey compared to the 390X in my opinion. Personally, I'm not a fan of the 970 so I would lean towards waiting for a 980TI but that's me.
