60% cpu load ? doing nothing

Ive seen a prossec thats huge wtf ? what to do :( my cpu is loading like crazy and my ram full :(

also do you download programs and use them once or twice some of these can end up running in the background and when there's a few they can add up

What are your specs? Your CPU could just be crappy and barely even handle Windows processes.

its an pentium E5700 but works for 3 years no problem :)

It could be that the cpu old but just scan the sytem see if anything comes up

Im stump sorry wish i can help you more. Take it to a local computer shop have them look at it. or you can do a clean install of windows if you have the install cd ?. Or it could be that windows is installing updates

Your title says you're doing nothing but you have Firefox open, your plug ins for Firefox are running, and Avast is scanning your web activity or something else. When was the last time you cleaned up your start-up items in msconfig?  How many total process are running?
