I think Adobe After Effects has a built in feature for this, otherwise you can probably do it manually too in any sort of advanced-ish program (like Adobe Premiere or Sony Vegas) by just looking at the video frame by frame and just moving the object to where it needs to be every frame.

I dont really edit myself, but I have seen a whole lot of tutorials and stuff to know this.

But for example here is a simple tutorials on how to have an object move over the screen:

To apply this to your own project you would have to kinda scroll on in your project to see where your object is going.

It seems like you want to do some motion tracking. The programs I know that do that is, After Effects, very easy to it in there with a decent result. Then you have Boujou 5 which is a powerful tool for motion tracking I don't have experience myself with it but I know several that likes it a lot for this. (Noone is a "pro" though they are mostly hardcore gamers that are pretty sick at doing fragmovies and such but I trust their word on that it is a good software). The last software I know of for this is Cinema 4D one of the latest versions. Have not used it myself but well people say it works great. I've only used AE's one but that one works pretty good I would say.

This is a great tut for how to use it in After effects. Just replace the picture elements with text elements. I really like these guys tutorials, they are in depth, easy to follow and most importantly, you learn a lot from them so you can implement the stuff by your own in another project later. (And they do cool stuff too. They was a part of the visual effects creation on the latest Star Wars and Star Trek which is pretty cool.)

Hello,
I want to edit a video, but I have no clue how to do that and did not find a guide for the specific thing I want to do.
Basically I want to put a text that moves along with an object on the video.
How can I do that?

You will need editing software, like premier and after effects, they have an automatic 3d tracking tool that works really well for tracking an object and getting text to move with it

its easy to do, but you need to have the software for it to work

The only question is, is the OP trying to track an object or can simple keyframing of text positioning be enough for what is needed?

tough to say, personally keyframing is a ball ache and the tracking (if the free software can do it to) is so much easier

I agree nice motion tracking is better, but sometimes if the movement is linear or simple directional movements key framing can just as well do the job.

Well too bad the OP doesn't provide any more detail than "wants text to move along with an object".
