This rumour first surfaced following on from PAX, where the Galak-Z developers 17-Bit, suggested that the PS4′s controllers worked natively on Windows 7, with the OS picking it up as a generic “Wireless Controller” over Bluetooth. This was further confirmed by another Redditor  who was able to test his pre-release DS4 controller out with a PC, finding it worked well with a total of 11 buttons detected.

                                                                                                                                   ds4.jpg

I don't see this hurting Sony in anyway so I think it's a plus for people who want to get a console and who already have a gaming PC, but also want to be able to use their controllers with their PC.

What would you guys think about the PS4 controller if it is compatible with PC's?

I think it is even more awesome than before.

@JasonRoGo, you would probably just go to the Control setup and press the buttons on the controller as the keys in the game. That is how it works for some games anyway, and emulators.

I love the Playstation's controller design, much more than I do the Xbox's controller design. I will probably use the one I get with my PS4 to play racing and platformer games a lot.

Not to mention my ISOs that I ripped from the game discs on my emulator. I have been missing a true controller to replay the original Kingdom Hearts in HD. Then again, HD 1.5 Remix is on the way. Kind of pointless now. xD

ehh

if i had to choose between an ps4 and a xbox controller

id choose xbox

but i can see how the touch pad on the  controller could be used for incompatible controller games to do stuff

I'd choose an N64 controller.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

i actually have a usb version of the n64 controller

very close to the real thing in terms of tactile feed back

what the hell were they thinking when they made that

I would assume the top track pad would work the same as a thumb stick, except that it's touch and not digital photocell technology like mice use.

It should work natively if it's DirectInput or XInput compatible, or both.

If it's XInput, then we can use 3rd party software like XPadder to just map the keys to our keyboard layout for our legacy games, that's what I do when my Xbox 360 controller doesn't work natively.

This may just be a version made just for PAX, I believe they had PS4 games running on PCs with these controllers. Whether they will produce them for regular consumers we'll have to wait and see but I'm already got used to XBox 360 controller so I guess XBox One will be my next, whenever my current one breaks... which is definitely not soon since I use Keyboard and mouse for 95% of games.

Yes!!! i always wanted this, i never really liked the x box controller, and since i am used to Dual shock 1 and 2 this would be natural for me. yes i know people like the x box one more, i am not against it, but my comfort zone is my comfort zone...
