Besides, nothing changed with AMD's patch.

You're good. Chances are you won't really notice the bottleneck as much as some people would have you believe

8370 with a R9-390 is a terrible Idea. Atleast read the topic I posted, if you still want to buy it go ahead.

However he CAN NOT afford an intel CPU as he already has the 8370. But this at least gives him the option to upgrade later :)

You probably tweaked some of the settings away from the preset. These are presets. Besides, i'd take this emperical evidence over your anecdotal one.

Because this forum is a giant AMD fanboy echochamber. I gave you a rational explanation for why it was bad, they just attacked me and gave no explanation of their own. And you're being lead by emotion over argument. Please learn to distinguish genuine comments over zealous fanboyism and bandwagon appeal.

Weaker CPU means less drawcalls. Driver overhead on AMD Radeon cards means also less Drawcalls. Combining the two is objectively a bad idea. You will get more fps with a 970 than you will with a 390 when paired with a 8370. The results of that page prove me right.

The results you see between GPU tests are done on high-end CPU's like that 6700K @ 4,7ghz . showing the 390 winning. But this is not the same for lower-end CPU's.

I never said he has to buy a fucking Intel. I'm saying Nvidia's lower driver overhead helps get more FPS out of that weak CPU. I'm only trying to get the most out of his system, but this fucking forum and it's zealots are so determined to get people to buy AMD hardware they will literally make him purchase the wrong GPU.

You want an explanation? Easy. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the i5 or i7 but the bottleneck won't be AS massive as you would have people believe. In reality, the Nvdia drivers will help when using few weaker cores BUT most modern games make use of all the threads due to the way consoles work hence why the difference will be next to none. In reality, the performance will be close to an i5 3330.

FYI - the Nvidia driver doesn't magically produce fps - it only helps when games use less cores and almost every AAA title released today uses 8 threads or more - GTA V uses all 12-16 threads on X99 chips.

Those results are anything but objective. You constantly post the charts from PClab.pl EVEN THOUGH nobody believes you as EVERY sane reviewer gets vastly different results. I'm sorry but a 370 CANNOT be the same as a 270X as the 370 is a much beefier chip yet the results you posted show exactly that....

That's bandwagon appeal. Actually PCLAB.pl has the same results as DigitalFoundry for example, or hardware.info. Techspot and Anandtech are the ones who produce results that make no sense. Showing a 8350 beaing a 4690K in fallout 4. Reknown for it's extremely high IPC scaling.

The R7 370 is a weaker chip, it's a rebranded HD 7850 while the R9 270X is a rebranded HD 7870.

In reality an 8350 does match a 4460 in multi-threaded. As for FO4 I have no idea - lot of broken stuff in that game, mostly due to LameWorks.

You just said the 370 was more powerful. Either way close results are to be expected as the specs are very similar.

I guess I worded it in an awkward manner, what i meant is that the 7870 shouldn't be performing identically to the 7850 - does not make sense.

The OP is going to upgrade in the future. And everyone and their dog knows the 390 will age better simply because it's the superior hardware

EDIT: You're the one turning this into a competition with me rather than actually being constructive - if you get called out 20 times for a site, stop using it rather then be as stubborn as a donkey and bury your head in it. I'm done here.
