Ultrabook or dedicated gaming laptop

TyPic4l

Hi. I have 1100 bucks to spend on laptops. I don't want to get a PC because I only stay at home at night, and I move a lot. I have a few options: Y700, 7559 i7 1080p, XPS 13, Macbook Pro 2015, V17 Nitro 592, and surface pro 4 i7. My needs are to game on it (CS:GO, TF2) so I need more than 120 fps high 1080p, and to do 1080p editing and rendering. I also value battery life and portability (under 3kg is ok). Tks

For gaming needs you defiantly need something with a GPU, something with a 950m/960m would be fine

And will they be better than the ultrabooks in terms of editing and rendering

For battery life, gaming, solid editing the 7559 is the sweet spot in my opinion. I personally prefer the PE60 though the battery life is worse, but such are the sacrifices of needing a optical drive. The bonus of the 7559 is the SSD, which is essential for 1080p edits.

Edit: Though the Nitro Also looks like a viable option.
