I'm putting this under "General" because it hits multiple topics.

Right now I have around $500 that I could potentially invest into my PC.

I have a long string of options and would like some input.

1. Spend around $450 on a WC loop for my CPU

2. Buy a new mATX motherboard (the Gene V) and a new mATX case (probably the Arc Mini) and buy an H100i

3. Buy another 7970 while prices are low.

4. Sell my current SigRig and just start fresh with cheap Haswell Mobos and AMD's R-200 series.

What's your opinion? What would you do?

Thanks :)

$450 is enough for a cpu/gpu loop... I would do that. Or spend a little on a cpu loop and try to squeeze in the 7970 :)

I think it's dumb. To much like nVidia. AMD R9 290, 285... To close to how GTX runs.

yeah, but I would just wait till the new 9970 comes out. See if it performs decent.

I'd save a little more and build another rig for.. w/e. folding, guest pc, small NAS. Watercooling isn't a bad idea but you may want to have a big larger budget for overhead.

Personally I need a media box for the living room. you can mail it to me after you build it

Don't know why you continue suggesting people to just grab one of AMD's new video card series when we have no specs or performance numbers at all.

Buy a h220 and the kit to add a GPU water block into the loop. It's insane.

Ya I'll ship it right over ;) I just need your full name and credit card information :P

I would agree with this one the most because you never know when your going to get hit by a car or something. Having a rainy day fund is always good.

Ya but its not as good as a custom loop. Plus I wouldn't want to tear up an AIO and potentially break it :P

They let you do it, plus it has clamps so it's not hard to put it back together.

I say if you're happy with your 7970, get a CPU/GPU loop. The only thing you will really ever need to buy again for that is a GPU block and possibly a CPU block down the road. If you think you want more in your Graphics card, get one of the new AMD ones and save for your CPU/GPU loop.
