Im looking to upgrade my system to either SLI 970s or Crossfire with 390x's along with a 5930k. What would be a safe PSU to use bearing in mind I will be overclocking the system too.

 

Needs money for car parts :P

I agree with the aforemention suggestion, 850W should be perfectly fine.

Get the 5820k instead. No need for 5930k.

850W is a good amount for two 390s, 750W is already more than enough for two 970s. The aforementioned Seasonic and EVGA G2/GQ/GS series are good options.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

Ive never used seasonic and my current pc has an evga psu, are the evga ones better than corsair since noones mentioned them

There's no hard and fast "EVGA is better than Corsair" because neither company actually manufactures the PSUs they sell. There are a few good options from Corsair, though they're typically kinda overpriced.

Here in the UK they're around the same price, well the RM series is atleast. Both about £110 for an 850w PSU. 

 

Edit: Theres about £7/8 difference between the 2 on amazon right now

All the aforementioned EVGA units are better than the yellow RM series for your money.
