Passively coaled powersupply?

Go to solution Solved by ZetZet,

520W is more than enough for that system

Hey guys,

I am throwing together a silent computer part list for kicks but i am stuck on the power supply.

In the part list I have an i7 6700k and a 980. I know that Linus used this power supply in his build guide but its only 520 whats and i am not sure if it would Handel it correctly without issues I may build this system and use parts from my previous one to do this. Not sure yet.

Thanks

Imo, go for a Supernova and use Eco mode. Even with everything in my system highly overclocked, I don't recall the fan ever turning on

Would it be enough if i upgraded the 980 to a 980ti? If i do build this id also like to overclock the cpu to 4.7.

More than enough still

Just now, TheRomanSenate said:

you can do submerged system which would eliminate noise generation from the mechanical components

I am too scared to do that because you cant easily go back, and getting a case for it and all that is such a bother. Thanks for the Idea though.
