Uhhhh, well first the obligatory "but why would you do that??" question. And otherwise I doubt it will explode or something, but I also doubt it particularly good for it.

Especially if you are talking force shut down that  might be bad for the HDD..

Hard drives have a limited number of duty cycles that they can go through, but it's very high. For a consumer WD Blue drive, it's 300,000 on the spec sheet.

Duty cycles are spin ups and spin downs by the way. Each count as a duty cycle.
