Depends on the speed of the device you are using. You can expect 15-20Mb/s, but some devices can get 30-40Mb/s. The theoretical maximum speed is 60Mb/s

@Volbet woah! myne only gets 4 - 9mbps :( how about for USB3?

USB 3.0 is theoretically 10 times faster then USB 2.0. But again it comes down to your device. In real life I get around 70Mb/s on both my flash drive and my external HDD. You should also remember that the types of files also matters. A lot of smaller files will transfer slower than a few large files, even if they have the same total size.

@Volbet ok you get 70mb/s on usb2 or 3? also why is it that smaller files take longer?

On USB 3.0, soryy about the miscommunication. Smaller files take longer becuase it has to begin writing new files with individual locations more often, and it take time to change the location.
