SSD Boot Drive - 120GB or 250GB?

Steve N. Mavronis

I'm planning on getting a Samsung 850 Evo SSD for my Windows 10 Home 64-bit boot drive, along with a WD Blue 1TB HDD.

I was thinking of getting the 250GB that right now sells for $86. The 120GB version sells for $69, so that's a $15 difference for double the capacity.

Is 250GB overkill though? I was think with the bigger size I could put both Windows and Programs on the SSD and use the HDD for data storage. Or is that just asking for trouble in the long term and maybe I should really just dedicate the SSD for the operating system only on a 120GB SSD?

Get the 256GB one. Honestly, if you want to install Windows, some programs and games, it will help a lot.

Also, 120GB drives really shouldn't be that expensive. You can get a Sandisk 120GB one for about 45 euros here where I live, so in the US that should be a little less. But still you should get 256GB
