I found out while watching a Tek Syndicate review (yes a rival company.....mmmm anyways) of the Dell Poweredge R720. The dang thing has 2 1100Watt Platinum PSUs. So ya wow.

Well that but servers parts are also more expensive because they need to be designed for 24/7 usage. So the parts have to be able to handle being on all the time.

This, and they're typically pretty cutting edge. Like that one SSD that Linus showed from Samsung. Was it like 4TBs? Consumers won't get that for a few years, and it definitely won't be affordable.

During CES I read somewhere Mushkin was supposed to be releasing a 4TB SSD for about $500 thats consumer grade.
