Just as the title says, build a 1000 gaming pc on pcpartpicker, please.

A 380 is faster than a 960

and this would be fine then

you should the rest of the money on otherthings, you really don't need to put your whole budget into your PC

What's your current display set up? Just a single 1080p display? Because I'd suggest you get a free-sync display of some kind with the extra cash, as it'll be solid for gaming, you have the option of  21:1080p IPS or 1080p 144hz TN at around $300

however I'd suggest you get a 4k display, even if it isn't free-sync the one in this video is only around $400 I believe, so that's just a bit over your budget

and then with the 4k display you're set for life on your display, and you'd be able to run it at a full speed once the new stuff comes out

27" 4k IPS free-sync $500

there is no way a 380 would be able to drive a 4k ips screen at decent frame rate

In games  just lower the res to 1080p. A 380 is more then enough to run a 4k display to write reports on and use Photoshop.

GPU: XFX RX 7900 XTX

CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D

why would you lower the res to 1080p it defeats the purpose of owning a 4k monitor especially if you plan to use it mostly for games. i would say spend the money on a 1080p panel and better hardware so you can upgrade to a better monitor later

Because when you upgrade your GPU in 6 months you'll have a 4k display, and in addition you have the 4k display for desktop use and text sharpness at 32"

What would you suggest otherwise a high end GPU with a 1080p display? because then you're still playing on 1080p but you're better off playing 1080p on a 4k display

or just get a 1440p monitor like i have. i have tried playing 1080p on  1440p and 4k monitors and it looks worse than just 1080. i mean i dont like 1080 but when your budgets 1500 or less you should stick to 1080/1440

4k has more than double the pixels of 1440p, and yes he could go 390+1440p, but you're better off investing in a 4k display, because it'll pretty much last you forever, exponential growth and all that jazz. we'll probably just skip right past 5k and go to 8k for really sharp 40" displays.

like if you get the say the 390/970, sure you're gaming better for now, but for the future, you're better off with the 4k display, as the next wave of GPUs with HBM2, will be able to drive 4k fairly well, the 980ti at least right now only gets to about 40fps on higher settings at 4k.
