OC uncertainties

azrituba

Hi LTT forumers, i previously oc'ed my i7-2600k to 4.4ghz, its been awhile now without any issues. But now when i monitor the temp with RealTemp i've noticed the frequencies jump from 4.4 to 5.9 ghz for a moment when load is less than 20%. Is this normal? i'm using offset to oc the cpu. The temp did reach around 55 degree. While ideal its usually sit around 37-43degree. I live in Malaysia and the temp here is quite hot around 36degree daily.

Jumps to 5.9? ha, it's missreading.

I would love to see a 2600K clocked at 5.9 Ghz without LN2, lol

I like the color scheme of Noctua fans. Deal with it. Forget about the bad memories of the past.

If not already....maybe update the bios to ensure the best stability of the board..?

May get rid of those "visual cpu spikes".

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Did you try more reputable softwares like CPU-Z?

CoolerMaster CM 690 II Basic | Intel i7-2600 | CoolerMaster Hyper 212+ 2x Zotac GTX 1070 AMP! Edition

Asus P8Z77-V LK | 2 x 4GB Kingston HyperX DDR3 1600MHz CL9 | SeaSonic M12ii 850W 80+ Bronze Crucial M4 128GB
