so I want to build a new system but not sure what card to get to run a 1440p monitor at 60hz I would like very smooth gameplay but reasonable price

What is your budget? cause if price to performance is your main concern than either a 980ti or a 390x is your best bet.

as long as it justifiable then im ok with getting it im not balling but you know if i get 40 more fps and im paying $150 more for the card i can understand that because at that resolution its dumb not to but i highly doubt that

Honestly a 390x would most likely be fine, however if you really want something that'll last you a while and can even game at 4k or 1440p 144hz than go with the 980ti. I actually have one for sale for 580$ US.

1440p is really difficult on non source titles. Even for medium settings you'll need atleast a 970 or 390x. But a 980 Ti is ideal.

I keep saying it. In a month a 380 will be as powerful as a 980ti according to this forum.

The fury is the bang for buck 1440p card right now. or even a nano....

 

The fury runs a lot cooler that a 980ti and a fair bit cheaper, and will get your over the 60fps threshold in a lot of games at ultra settings..

Dude, get a 980 ti, you will get so much more performance compared to the 390x/Fury.
