Yes. This cpu will perform very well.

You can overclock it now (even though its a non K skew chip), but intel is rolling out a bios change to change that.

If you can, get the 6700k and a nice cooler (Kraken X61, H100i GTX, etc) and overclock.

Oh, okay then :P. The 6700 is still a pretty good CPU either way :)

remember you need a 6700k (notice the k) to overclock.

You mean, Noctua NH D14/15, etc.

I don't recommend those horribly overpriced and average performing "All-in-one-water cooler Toys".

They are WAY too loud for their Performance. And if you buy silent Fans (which is also expensiv eenough), the Cooling performance is WORSE than a cheaper Air cooler.

If you have a big enough Case, its this:

Custom Water cooler (several hundreds of dollars at least) > Air Cooler > All-In-One Water cooler.

This is false imo. I know many people will agree with me.

Forgive me that Wall of text.

Well, this is not about agreeing or optinions. Its about Measureable Tests, that claim these facts.

AIO water cooler Radiators need a higher Air pressure to perform well, thats why their Fans ar emostly 2000+ rpm, sometimes 2500+.

That is VERY loud. Only then, they can have a good cooling performance.

If you compare a 100€+ aio water cooling solution, with a 70-80€ Noctua NH D15 (which is pretty much the high end Air cooler), and use the SAME Fans on both, the Noctua will win.

Only the Corsair H110i (which is their high end flaggship) will slip past, by a few degree.

You always have to compare temperature COMBINED with the Noise.

5°C less gives me Shit, if the Fans runs at 2600 rpm with the Noise of a starting Roket.

And as long the Water cooling solution is not more quiet than the Air solution, i dont really see a reason to recommend it.

To Back up my Facts here: http://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/7320/corsair-hydro-h110i-gtx-high-performance-liquid-cpu-cooler-review/index7.html

Kraken X61 = 156€

Noctua NH D15 = 86€

Check the Noise Levels: Fans at 7Volts, the D15 has 24 decibels, the Kraken X61 29 decibels. This is 50% louder.

Lets check the Temperatures at Overclocked Load: 69,33°C on the D15, vs 67,33°C on The Kraken.

---> The Kraken, which costs 70 € MORE, cools mere 3°C better, at the cost of 50% higher Noise.

Lets see the Fans at 12V (Fans = Full speed): Noctua D15 with still 35 Decibels (From 24v at 7V, this is Double~ the Loudness).

kraken X61 at 59 Decibels (holy shit man). 10 Decibels more means the Loudness doubles. At 12V, the Kraken is 2,5 times LOUDER than the Noctua NH D15, and still cools only a few Degree better.

I can absolutely not find Anything why you should honestly pay 156 € for such a loud piece of crap.

Of course, those 59dB are a worst case. But still: It will ALWAYS be Louder, than the Noctua.

Another Test? http://www.overclock3d.net/reviews/cases_cooling/nzxt_kraken_x61_review/7

Even here. If i check Temperature, and "silent mode" on both, i cant see any reason, why you should pay almost double the Price of the D15. Or even D14.

Or this, and i hope you forgive me the German Test: http://ht4u.net/reviews/2015/nzxt_kraken-serie_-_x31_-_x41_-_x61_im_test/index10.php

Graphs from Top to Bottom are: Idle, Games, simulated video Encoding, Math calculations (Prime etc).

In the graphs itself "Niedrigste Regelstufe" = Lowest Fan speed.

So, even in Lowest speed, or PWM controlled, the Kraken can compete fine with the D15. In Games, it cools a few °C better.

Lets check the decibels here: http://ht4u.net/reviews/2015/nzxt_kraken-serie_-_x31_-_x41_-_x61_im_test/index11.php

The Kraken can only be slightly more Quiet on its lowest Fan setting.

PWM controller, the Kraken is already DOUBLE the Noise.

So in the End, the kraken is okay, if you keep the Fans at Lowest setting.

However: The Cooling Performance is around that of an Air Cooler for the half price.

So, Can you explain me, why anyone should pay 130-160€ for such an All-in-One Water Cooler, instead 70-85€, for an High end Air Cooler, like a Noctua NH D14/15, or BeQuiet Dark Rock Pro 3? What exactly is it, that justifies almost Double the price?
