Prime 95 Core Failures

Hi all,

I've overclocked my i5 4690k to 4.4Ghz at 1.290 Volts, but when I run Prime 95 I either get a core 3 hardware failure or core 4 failure. Sometimes both. Would anyone be able to tell me whats going wrong and how to fix it?

How to fix it- quit using Prime 95, use Aida 64 instead.

please dont use P95, it can kill your chip, use Aida64 or something else

You need more volts....

I don't know how Intel CPUs work for overclocking but you shouldn't really use P95 for Haswell CPUs if you have adaptive voltage.

When you see a core failure, it usually means that it's not getting enough volts.

2.) Do you have automatic voltage disabled?

3.) What cooler do you use?

4.) What temperatures did you get?

5.) Have you tried in Aida64?

1) I'm downloading Aida now

2) Yes it is

3) Corsair H80i GT

4) Getting around 35-40 idle and 60-70 under load

5) Not yet

Although AIDA64 is just so much better.
