Go to solution Solved by Mr.Meerkat,

not the best GPU you have (a 270x) but since you're still using a core 2 duo, I would probably agree and go with the CPU upgrade first :D

i'm looking to upgrade from my current cpu, mobo and ram( i will get a new gpu and psu at a later date) to something that will last me a pretty long time.

here's the parts list i have put together:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i5-6600K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor  (£199.96 @ More Computers)
Motherboard: MSI Z170A SLI PLUS ATX LGA1151 Motherboard  (£104.72 @ Amazon UK)
Memory: Kingston 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory  (£29.99 @ Ebuyer)
Total: £334.67
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

i would at least go with 2x4GB RAM instead of 1x8GB because of Dual Channel capabilities (faster). But other than that, looks fine for gaming purpose

"dual channel" is marginally faster...in games, the difference is literally nothing to no more than 3fps...
