Just wanna make sure it's good

KingUnicorn

Ok so long story short, I've been talking to my dad about getting a pc for his place since he doesn't have one and we need one there. I wanted to build it because I wanted to get a feel for building and I need it to be customized to my liking. anyways I made a part list and I just want to make sure it's good. also I know that there will be a tight fit between the video card and drive bays (like 2.2 milimeters). the main purpose is for typing up papers and Web browsing but also light gaming. the games would be minecraft and KSP (on low to medium settings). I know the ways to get microsoft office free/cheap for us. I only need the one monitor and the keyboard and mouse can be cheap (but I still want a nice-ish feel). my budget is below 500 USD but max is 550 USD. nyways, here is the list.

I know it's a bad video card but it's better than nothing. The windows key is from /r/microsoftsoftwareswap and I got an old optical drive I tore out from an old prebuilt. Any suggestions or suggested changes would be greatly appreciated.

Pretty sure the IGPU is better than that video card...

if so then can you (or anyone) recommend a good CPU for it? I don't plan to upgrade and I only need something that can play games on med to low settings.

Go Skylake, if you can, if you´re dropping the gpu. Intel improved the IGPU in that series exponentially.

ok so I changed the cpu to a much better one and got rid of the GPU. the price probs went down due to the monitor, but I don't expect it to go over 500 USD. I also changed the psu but this was the lowest one I could find.

If you are going to be gaming this would be a better build... The cpu does not have an igpu but i would recommend you buy a used one like an HD 7870,7950,270x, gtx 670 or similar off of ebay or craigslist with the remainder of you budget.

If you swap of the 860k for an A10-7850k and forget a gpu, that would probably suit your needs the best... It has a better igpu than the pentium and its a quad core, which would be better.

The 7850k has one of the best igpus available at the moment
