The only factors would be latency and the build quality of the cases 3.5mm jacks vs the MB's. And even i doubt you would hear a difference in quality in sound unless you are using some very very high end gear (50k and up) and listening to flac or lossless files. As for latency, it would happen so fast you wouldnt be able to tell.

So if I plug it into a quarter million audio system in the front its going to be bad. :o LIFE HAS BEEN RUINED!
