Custom Car Wheel Case?

Yeah the one I posted is a 22"-Rim

Hmm, that makes me a bit worried that a atx will fit in mine.

Will post in a few hours with an update. Thanks gain for finding that, and the measurement of the wheel - I looked for that, but obviously not hard enough.

So, I recently sold a set of wheels, but before I did I had one replaced under an insurance claim from an accident and kept the slightly scuffed wheel.

This is the design of the wheel. I was originally thinking I was going to sand it and spray it red and just hang it in the garage. But now I'm thinking I should build my PC in it somehow.

If you have seen anyone do something to this tune before, please send me that way.

Any advice or thought on this idea? Terrible? It's okay to be honest, please be.

sounds really cool

i would make some round cover for the back and mount the components on that, so that you can look in from the front and see everything through the spokes

maybe like a round piece of metal or wood painted black, with some latches and a hinge

Seems like a good idea.

I guess it would be really cool if you could somehow fit a fan that's almost as big as the inner diameter of the wheel. Not sure how you'd go about it though.

I cannot be held responsible for any bad advice given.

I've no idea why the world is afraid of 3D-printed guns when clearly 3D-printed crossbows would be more practical for now.

My rig: The StealthRay. Plans for a newer, better version of its mufflers are already being made.

Also exactly what I was thinking.

Should I have it open air though? or should I try to back the spokes with mess or something? I feel like that would take away from the look. Maybe plexi would be the best option.

If you could pull this off it would be amazing. maybe the space imbetween the rim and the hub could house some fans and a strip of led lights going round the inside would look absolutely amazing

This is exactly what I was thinking, sort of the RoG case I saw in the in the CES coverage.

How deep is it?

The wheel is 18x9 inches Obviously the inner diameter would be less, I'll have to measure it when I'm home.

leave it open but have a filtered intake on the back or side giving positive air pressure

that way only air will be coming out of the open side, so no dust gets in

Open air cases really work well look at the D-Frame from In Win

You also can fit a ton in a small space this custom system we built at BS Mods is 12 x 12 x 6 and packs a 5960x NVMe drive and R9 Nano.

That would be a pretty awesome build, if you do make a build log for sure. Depending on the size of the rim you could fit a mATX build in there fairly comfortably and something like a SFX PSU with short cables.

I think I can fit a full ATX system in there - I never ended up taking measurements last night - so I'm not entirely sure.

I'd probably end up having a stand for the wheel so it sat upright, which would give me some space outside of the actual confines of the wheel to mount various things.

Full atx would rock I it seems like a great canvas for a build!

The diameter of that wheel looks to be more than 18 inches from the pictures, but that board has a ton of room. Going full ATX in it will require some creative mounting solutions for some of the other devices, however.

I am taking home an old computer from work that I will use as a template and will start the project this weekend.

Some things I would love some help on:

1. Finding a start up button
