I have been looking up for these 2 cards every benchmark with diffrent cpus shows that the r9 390(x) wins with few more fps, but i'm really afraid

- nvidia gameworks

- nvidia physx

- nvidia slowing down amd cards

should i be worried if i'm gonna upgrade from my 970 to 390x ( i still have return thingy for my gpu )

Go for a 980 or Fury.

Nvidia GimpWorks screws over everyone

PhysX can run off the CPU just fine

Nvidia "abandons" their older gen products through planned obsolescence.

i know it's a small upgrade but it's like i want more fps xD i'm fps horny guy hehe but i don't really mind to save the cash because then i can't return my 970 and get 100% cash back

Have you tried overclocking your 970 yet? Also I don't think you want a microwave in your computer with a 390x..

Snip

390X will improve your fps, especially in texture hungry games, but a 970 is pretty good so depends if you want the trouble of switching.

I'd also recommend watching this, really objective and informative video about NVidia Gameworks (and what happens with both NVidia and AMD cards):

This again. Nvidia does not abandon their older cards as is evident by the 780ti offering similar performance in ROTTR to a Fury X.

AMD hasn't yet released a game ready driver yet, Fiji cards are experiencing huge frame time spikes every 5~6 seconds
and linking a game like Tomb Raider is just silly, look at the 2013 game it is a posterchild of performance and visual fidelity on PC, that game can run on a potatoe and perform good

Try Project Cars where 960 beats 780 and is on par with original Titan

OK, first off this is going a bit off topic.

Second, look at the performance between the Kepler and Maxwell cards. 780ti between a 970 and 980, 780 less than 10 fps under the 780ti, and a 770 just under the 960.

Can we please not spread misinformation about the treatment of Kepler?

If anyone asks you never saw me.

With AMD it's always like this. Give it a few months and the AMD graphics cards might be beating the Nvidia cards.

But this is also just fps, as a person who has owned both recently you buy a Nvidia card for the features, and a AMD card for the fps performance.

But getting a 390x to replace a 970 is a bit silly. I'd save up for a 980/ti. Or give it a few months and see what happens with the new offerings.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

All you have to do is look at the difference between Amd and Nvidia to know the truth. Amd is a gnc card based more in hardware and drivers. Code for original gnc is basically the same as new gnc comes out. Nvidia is more based in drivers telling the GPU what to do. Takes a lot more driver code for Nvidia to work. Makes sense that after awhile Nvidia stops upgrading drivers for older  cards because it takes a lot of effort where not as much to keep older Amd gnc cards going.

Not accurate at all. Older graphics cards from both companies are doing just fine. In respect to their architecture and performance provided. Pleas visit the evidence I provided.
