Hello.

I'm looking for a replacement for my 280x. It should be much cheaper than the one I have. I am sure there is something out there with the same kind of perfomance with fraction of a it's current price tag of 250+ EUR new. There are some possible candidates out there but none of the reviews of them are up to date because most of them have more video memory now and higher clocks. So any suggestions?

As in another 280x? The current gen version is the 380x.

Look up 7970s too, they are basically a 280x.

Almost as cool as my temps

I'd actually recommend waiting for Polaris to come out before upgrading, the 280x is still a great card and nothing under a 390 will get you substantial performance improvements.

Still, 280x will give a 380x a run for its money. Comes down to cost and horrible advice to go from a 280x to a 380x.

290/390/970 minimum

Depending on the user's budget, those may not be available to him so a 380X would be an upgrade (but I did say a 390 would be better).

Yes you did. Honestly think used it their only real option here and a used 290 will probably fit them best. I know they want way too much for the 290s new here.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

Hmmm... That would be difficult. There's not really a card out there that could replace it.

But I'd look at 290/970/390 or higher. I considered the 390x and 980 when I wanted to step up from mine.

So it does mean that I have to save up tons of money because those cards cost more than rest of my computer

I overexaggerated with the price but it's not that far off.

Then there's nothing else. Right below the 290 is the 280x.

7970/280x is the same card

285=380

380x and 280x are probably around the same.

285/380<280x/7970.

Upgrading to the 380x or downgrading to the 285/380 is pointless.  You'd need at least a 390 to make a real difference.

I agree that i need atleast 390 for upgrade
