Another 960 or one 970?

Sell the GTX 960 and get some R9 390/GTX 970, and buy a better PSU.

I am slowly upgrading my main gaming rig and the next thing I need is a small boost in the graphics department. I currently have a 960 strix and I love it but I have some extra cash and I could do better. My mobo can sli cards so is it worth it to buy a better psu (I currently have a cx600m ) and another 960 strix or should I go for a 970 and not bother with the dual card setup?

 

The price is about the same from what I will save on the new psu/ 960 being onsale for the next week at a local store compared to the avg price of a 970.

 

So is it worth it? I have uses for all the other parts I will have such as the 960 if I get the 970 or the old psu and other things because I do have some other computers that I am working on every now and then.

 

so the question is SLI 960 or one 970?

Honestly I would sell your 960 you have an combine the money you have with the money the 960 will get you and get like a 980 or something.

The R9 390 can be even cheaper than the GTX 970, and has extra 4.5GB full speed vram(the GTX 970 has 3.5GB+512MB slower ram), that can be really usefull in the future. Personally I would go for R9 390
