yeah, but they still are pretty cheap, and will get even more once the R9000 series comes out

It has a 6. And a 9, and a 7.

 

 

Oh and a 0. It has a cool number. It is not a very fast graphics card because it doesn't move, I left it on my desk and it's been a couple days and it's still there.

Buying an older generation card is a good way to get more bang for your buck than with a newer card.. It won't be setting any benchmark records, but it will probably be the best performer for ~$160..

Or you can get a 6950 used for about $100 and unlock the shaders.

It's a beast!!!  this card is very power hungry, if your not into looking how many fps your making this is a good gpu, my 6970 is performing like my gtx 660 on  a 1080p monitor,

the idea of getting a reference 6950 and unlocking it is also a good idea

We are talking about power consumption not comparing a GPU that retails for over $200 more than the 6970 did and is 3 generation newer tech. If anything the 780 should perform better using allot less power and heat because it is new and much more expensive. Of course there is the GTX 480, 580 that were also power hungry but why people don't talk about though and think cause the 780 is new it's ok that it is power hungry. All the other GPUs I mentioned were once new you know.

Looking at newegg prices (~170ish) i would tell you to buy 2 and run them in crossfire If you can afford them, and have fill the requirements to run two ofc. That would be an epic graphics solution for dirt cheap
