m.2 specs for Msi z97 gaming 7...

Go to solution Solved by Kirky2k15,

so u mean adding a pcie m.2 adaptor will run the m.2. ssd at full speed  ( ie 32Gb/s)  on pcie 3.0 4x?

will it affect performance of my 970 as it take up x4 lanes?

I run a SM951 in my z97 machine with my 290x the 290x will run at x8 and the other pcie lane will also report as x8 but the sm951 only needs x4 so yeah it does run at full speed, just get an adapter dude..

Will a SM951 SSD run on full speed even if 1 Gtx 970 is installed in an x16 slot of the mobo?

okay, you got me I lied

- M.2 port supports M.2 PCIe module up to 10Gb/s speed

if you know that already then why did you ask?
