I was just wondering what you all thought was the best mouse for shooters. I play a lot of bf3 and I snipe (or at least I try to xD) so i want something thats steady, is higher dpi better or that? I was thinking about the Razer DeathAdder. If you do suggest a mouse try and stay around 40$ usd thanks :)

Also mouse pads, would a more faster one be better?

"More faster"?

Higher DPI is only good if you need higher DPI. Most people are fine with less than 2k. What you're looking for is a sensor without acceleration and high perfect control/malfunction speeds, which the follow mice have...

Razer Deathadder

Razer Krait 4G

Razer Abyssus

Logitech G400

CM Storm Spawn

CM Storm Recon

Zowie AM

Zowie EC1/2 Evo

Zowie FK

Roccat Savu

Cyborg R.A.T. 3 Optical

Subjective shape/feature preferences aside, those are objectively the best mice for FPS.

As for the mouse pad, I suppose it depends whether you prefer speed or control.

I would get the Corsair M65 because it has no acceleration.

I thought higher dpi meant the mouse was more accurate.

Yep just anything with a good sensor that tracks well and has no acceleration/angle snapping etc. DPI is more of a marketing thing. One of the best Quake players in the world uses a 400 dpi Microsoft WMO with Steelseries sticker on it to keep the sponsors happy. Steelseries Qck is a pretty standard choice for mousepads.

They both have acceleration. The A9800 is based off the A9500, which is what was in the M60s. Any laser sensor will have acceleration, apart for the Phillips Twin-Eye which has it's own issues. Optical mice are the best with shooters for now.

I would personally go for something a little more heavy or has customizable weights on the mice as it gives you good control of the mouse especially when sniping. I currently use a sensei which is very customizable software wise. Not so much in physical customization however. :)

I have thouht about those types but I'm really not sure if I want a heavy mouse. I'm using a 5$ dollar usb mouse xD i like that its light weight but I haven't used a heavy mouse so I'm not sure >.>

Deathadder! After razer sorted out it's synapse issues the mouse is really accurate and customisable.
Yea didn't you have to be online for the mouse macros to work? (Fixed now)

Weight is up to the user. I know I already mentioned it, but the Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical/1.1a might be a good option if you want something lighter. I switched back after using a MX518 and I love the lighter weight. Check your local thrift store every now and again and keep an eye out for one. They are relatively common. I was able to build up my stash of 4 in about a week and they only cost 3-4 bucks.

I play plenty of fps and tps, aswell as mmorpg, rts etc... pretty much every genre and my 15 dollar zalman mouse works great. It's well built (rage smashed once or twice :/) and I haven't had no issues with it. Here is a link for it if you're thinking about using. I've used it for over a year now and it looks and works like it was new, I can see this mouse easily lasting me a couple of years. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826501010

I love using my DeathAdder for FPS gaming.

The buttons on the side are excellent for binding knife, or nades, depending on what your playing.

Also the custom sensitivity for X and Y axis is handy in some games. and overall for my needs, the mouse has a fast polling rate.

I was thinking of using the buttons for grenades and defib in bf3 :)

I totally agree with Toby's advice. These are all worthwhile mice for FPS

You can disable mouse acceleration on all mice so don't worry about that. I would find a mouse from a trusted manufacturer that you like the feel of and has the functions you need.

I use the SteelSeries Diablo mouse which fits my needs well and feels great.

Generally you want a lower dpi or cpi when playing fps games as the give better accuracy but you also need quite a large surface to move the mouse on.

With regards to mouse mats/pads I would say go with cloth, I'm.currently using the XFX Warpad and it works a charm and the weave is tight and accurate.

I use a Logitech G700 for everything and it's great. A Logitech G9x is more in your price range and is also a very nice mouse. Good thing about the G700 is I use buttons on the side for push to talk and throw grenades etc. Mines going 2 years strong now with no problems. Mouse pad wise definitely a Razer exact mat. I personally despise cloth mats because of how disgusting they get after a bit of use and how much better it feels to track on a solid surface. You have to get exact mats second hand now, as they no long manufacture them.

That is misinformation. What you're thinking of is software-side mouse acceleration, which can be turned off, but there is still acceleration inherent in most mouse sensors, which can not be avoided.
