Do you mean 2-3 pages? And a page number is the little number letting you know what page you're on.. like a book.

Are you using Word? When I was in college ('04-'08) they had just added nifty works cited/citation editing tools to make it a lot easier to add into your paper.

No its some online program. Thanks for letting e know about that word thing though. It will be helpful

Keep in mind that was several years ago, I'm sure they didn't take it out, I just haven't used Word since then so I can't really help too much other than that.

No its just asking my opinion and then state what page its based off of.

Is it a Confucious book that you're citing from? In that case, it sounds like they just want a quote to look like this:

Your words or whatever it is you're talking about, "The quote from Confucious, probably some deep, meaningful shit that you should pay attention to (Confucious ##)."

Typically, you would have a Works Cited list to go along with the paper, and the author's last name refers to the source on your Works Cited page. Like anything English class related, there's all kinds of exceptions, if/then situations and stupid rules which nobody understands. However, since your teacher has given you the source material, a page number should be sufficent. I'd ask your teacher for clarification though in any case.

That is some great wisdom from Confucius. It should be in the Code of Conduct
