So.. I seem to break my IEM's a lot around every month or two I have to get a new one. At this point I just want one that will last me let's say 4 months. Things I've had and broken: Seinheiser Momentum, Shure 215, GR07 Walk Audio's, A lot of Apple earbuds (3-4), and one that came with my galaxy that I didn't like.

My current IEM's earpiece cracked in half (GR07) and my momentums cable was ripped off the earpiece if that helps.

Budget is up to $200

I would of checked the sticky but I care more about durability then sound quality for IEM's.

Try again,  ATH-CKM500's if it doesnt pull up

Got it, only problem is the earpiece casing is plastic I believe and that's where my old IEM's broke.

Wow. You cracked the casing? Jeez

Yeah.. lol

Maybe some RHA IEMs?

Some of the higher end ones are made of machine stainless steel.

Those look neat thanks I'll look into them.

Have you tried Etymotic Hf 5's?  They fit right into your budget.  My only suggestion is that when you go to purchase them, go to Amazon and purchase them bundled with the FiiO X1.  It's 200$ for the bundle while they are usually 199$ alone.

To be honest IEM's don't need something like that and those don't seem too durable would rather not spend money on something not needed.

If you were to purchase those IEM's by themselves they'd be the same price as the bundle so basically you're getting a free FiiO X1 to tinker with.    If you break IEM's often what I do to prevent them from breaking is putting shrink wrap on joints like where the chord attaches to the actual cans, some shrink wrap where the jack is.  Like I said last night, I've sleeved them before.  They are pretty durable even without sleeving but I know what you mean.

Get some paracord, pull the stuffing out of it,  cut the jack off and slide the wire through the length of the cut paracord.  then solder the jack back on.  Now shrink wrap the end of the paracord where the jack comes out to the jack.  Cut both wires that attach to the cans, where they join and put one wire through another length of paracord(Note you need 2 lengths of paracord for both cans) repeat the process for the other earphone wire.  now you simply solder the wires back to where they were now that they're sleeved.  Finally, shrink wrap the end of the earphone paracord at the top where the actual earphone is.  Now in the middle where all the wires connect be careful, you must  put shrink wrap there and shrink it tightly ON TO THE JOINT BUT LEAVING ONE END LIGHTLY shrunken this end is where the wires for the earphones come out.

-SNIP.

That seems like a good idea however the biggest problem here is that I'm lazy and don't wanna resolder everything would rather have something factory lol.

How did you break a SE215...

My friend has them. He already had to have the cable replaced because it broke internally and now his right ear has a loose contact causing them to turn off if you even wiggle it a slight bit out of perfect postion. the seel however on the foam tips is super awesome. I did try some different types of music and they were fine in rap, electronic, ... Strings were somwhere in between awful and unbearably butchered and Adele also kind of sounded unnatural... I didn't try any rock metal or e-guitar heavy tracks. Acustic guitar though was more than fine. I would consider them more on the fun side of things. (Source was my iPhone 6)

Yeah I know what you mean...I went to my local thrift store and bought a bin with 13 pairs of apple earpods for like 6$?  I used those for trial and error...only 4 survived...
