Why not? It's a keyboard, It doesn't affect performance.

You're right, I just don't know if a vintage keyboard would be worth my money.

It's optimised for typing but in my younger days I used to game on a Model M and I didn't have much to complain so it's very doable. Just expect a bit of a different feeling from the buckling springs.

Will it be better than than the shitty rubber dome keyboard that I have?

Okay, because I have about 30 rubber dome keyboards from the 90s.

Aside from being PS/2 or USB

PS/2 keyboards generally have a shorter delay between the keypress and the computer being able to respond than USB.

My procrastination is the bane of my existence.

I make games and stuff in my spare time.

I already knew that, I said performance as in lagging(FPS).

Just make sure you do your research. There are a lot of different types of Model M keyboards, and several of them are rubber dome. You need the one with buckling springs, and you can tell by looking at the model number, use this as a guide:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Model_M_keyboard#Features_by_part_number

Go to the features by part number section and use the chart. It's kind of hard to find a nice one at a good price but if you search hard enough you can definitely find one you like. The switches are also pretty heavy (heavier than I think any Cherry MX switch) so keep that in mind.

Gaming on a Model M probably won't go too well. The max rollover of a Model M is something like 2-4 simultaneous key presses.

For example, if you're jumping (spacebar), crouching (ctrl), moving diagonally (w, a) and trying to reload (e), something's going to give. More than likely something will give before that, because you won't stop completely depressing a key before you start pressing another one.

Won't be a problem for all games, but it'll stop ya more often than you think.

This VVVV

The model F had NKRO but they're fairly rare. You're typically not going to grab one at model M prices.

I personally Love my Model M to type on but I couldn't stand it for gaming. The frustration of when you're dueling and go to strafe and nothing happens will wear on you quick.
