Remember Gangnam Style? Neither do I, but it currently holds the record for most views. It has roughly 2.5 billion whereas this has merely 1 billion. No it isn't a world record.

she did get to the billion mark much, much faster.

 

as well as gangnam style's view count going VERY stale right after the billion mark, which makes me think there were more forces at hand than just public interest.

Don't know about other places but in England this song (Adele not gangnam style) is played like once an hour every hour in the day time on the radio so to most people in the UK it's pretty damn stale :P
