Hello PC friends!

Almost half a year ago, I bought a new PC. It is great, appropriate for almost everything possible.

These are its specs:

i7 4790k

Asus Strix GTX970 4GB

Kingston HyperX 16GB Red

CoolerMaster Hyper 212EVO

GIGABYTE Z97X-UD3H

CoolerMaster PSU 750W

Unfortunately, I have some serious overheating problems. On idle state  my temperature is around 30-40*C. Now for example, my temp is 38*C. On max load state the temperature rises dangerously to 90-100*C. While playing some good Flight Simulator X, with many addons equipped the temps rise to 90-100*C(Full load state) and the FPS go down to 20FPS although they are supposed to be at 60-70FPS. So, what is my problem? CPU cooler misplacement? Not enough thermal paste? Defective CPU(GOD NOOO)? Please tell me what you think about this.

Thanks in advance,

GeKa036

90 or under is fine for this CPU. I have the same one and its safe at around 90c or below. I had the same worries

Those aren't terrible temps for a cpu.  I've got a 4770k with a similar size noctua cooler and my temps are similar.  But the simplest 'fix' is to take the cooler off.  Then use alcohol to remove the old paste and reapply new paste.  Then properly reseat the cooler.  Do that and give us an update.

Laws only govern the honest.
