Hi, so today my new 4690k arrived, i have installed it but when i press the power button, the CPU fan, case fans,GPU fans and leds will go on and inmediately everything turns off.

I have tried to change the sticks of RAM,with no GPU,other psu... But it does the same.Yesterday the pc was working flawlessly with my previouw CPU, an i3- 4160

What else can i do? The CPU is second hand from Amazon,i thought they tested these products...

Amazon doesn't test the products unless they themselves have it form their warehouse. If you bought it form a seller via amazon, then you can let amazon know if the seller sold you a broken product and made it out to be working.

What is your motherboard? You may need to flash your bios.

Flashing on and off, is better than outright no signal....

Go back to basics, remove ALL connected devices, and put it back together piece by piece starting the PC after each addition.

It will boot with basics?, CPU/1xRAMstick/MOBO/PSU.....only.?

Then add your HDD's and such if that boots.

/Check all cables, and ACTUALLY CHECK, dont just say "their fine.."

You never know if closing your panels moved a cable, or if moving a cable did move another doing so... best to check all connections.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Do you still have your old CPU? If so, try putting that in. If it works, it is most likely the new CPU.

It looks as if the peasants have risen up, and found swords!

But their sword's look a little short, if you know what I mean!

Good! The squires need training anyway!

Something unlikely but possible, is that the PSU cannot handle the new CPU due to much higher TDP.

quote from http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/344894-28-test-damage

If your system trying to start for atleast 5sec,remove your cpu fan and touch the cpu and turn it on.if it heats up,cpu is fine.

To check mobo, remove any pci cards you have and ram, make sure you have inbuilt speaker ot connected speaker for your mobo.after removing ram try to start if beep sound hears your mobo may not hardware problem.(google for more)

do you tried to update bios?

I have tried to boot without the CPU, and fans stay spinning, but if i put the CPU again,it powers on for a sec
