Vram Difference

Go to solution Solved by Arcanekitten,

What kind of performance increase would I see between two cards with the same GPU but different amounts of VRAM (4GB and 2GB to be exact) in games such as Witcher GTA Crysis (Then again nothing can run Crysis) and BioShock Inifinite and 2 VBR pass Video Rendering?

Thanks!

you don't get a FPS boost in games with more vram but when you run out of vram your fps WILL tank so its more like ram it doesn't impact anything until you run out of it. (some games require more vram than others so do your research on games you want to play like cs:go uses only 1 GB but shadow of mordor close to 4GB Maxed out)

You would think Ubisoft would support the Bulldozer based architectures more given their digging themed names like bulldozer, Piledriver, Steamroller and Excavator.

At 1080p .. A tiny little bit. But you want necessarily see an fps increase, but rather you will see less dips or the textures can look nicer.

On 1440p (or higher res) the difference will be bigger

the bigger resolution you use the more vram you need. btw in GTA v settings there is a vram usage indicator
