So still trying to decide which board to get as a replacement for my x99 Xpower board which went faulty and I have had to return to amazon.

 

I've been looking at getting the x99 gaming 9 or the Godlike.

 

I noticed that the Godlike uses all Killer Lan and Wireless connectivity and the gaming 9 uses killer lan but intel wireless which is better intel or killer for network connectivity? and also is it worth going for the board that has USB C as it will probably be more future proof?

IIRC Intel has the best wireless, though Killer has some nice features for gaming if you actually make use of them.

I don't see USB C as a very useful addition currently. In a few years, sure.

If worse comes to worse you can just get an add on card.

ASUS RAMPAGE V

I don't buy from Asus they weren't very helpful when I received a monitor from them that had a load of dead pixels.

Features aside then which one do you think looks better as I have a windowed case with a custom loop.

I never ever had problem with ASUS ROG Motherboards. As you can see, both systems I have built contain ROG motherboards. I never had issues with ROG mobos. The motherboard and monitor are part of two different departments.

I never ever had problem with ASUS ROG Motherboards. As you can see, both systems I have built contain ROG motherboards. I never had issues with ROG mobos. The motherboard and monitor are part of two different departments.

I have had an Asus motherboard before but it was ages ago and was an AMD socket AM3 which I used an Athlon ii 240 , the Rog board is a nice looking board but for it's price I don't think it has anything amazing to offer

Yeah that is the one thing I don't like about the godlike

yeah the carbon edition is nicer but still says godlike on it and I don't think I can wait till end of feb to get a new motherboard i'm using my old PC which only has a 2gb gpu and at 1440p it struggles to reach high setting.
