I just bought a GTX 970 less than a week ago. Besides returning it and repurchasing it does anyone know a way I can get the code?

 

Where did you buy it? Ask Nvidia if you can still get one. My friends asked Nvidia if they can still get a code of Witcher 3 after purchasing it before the promotion went live. Eventually, the store called them and got the codes.

Go message whatever retailer you bought it from if you bought it online. Amazon and Newegg are usually pretty nice about it and they might give you the code even though you're outside the window.

I spoke to them the last day about this eventuality; Nvidia does not give out codes, they don't have any of them. They're given by the reseller.

Talk to the reseller.

I don't know a single person that had problems in the mentioned games, but I see people complaining a lot. Actually games ran flawlessly for everyone I know in rl. Really peculiar.

On release both Arkham games had plenty of issues that were ironed out with patches

1. Because Tomb Raider

2. Because Nvidia

 

I dismantled my GTX 760 and recycled it in 3 different places rather than sell it when I bought my used 290x as a response to GameWorks.

 

While I'm not discounting the possibility of getting Nvidia in the future (if performance is worth it) I have no use for a new card in this generation, and especially because Nvidia's line up is not DX 12 ready for async compute (and Pascal might also not be)

 

I also have a Freesync monitor on the way, so the future is looking bright (red)

I got it at Bestbuy so I could get the built buy Nvidia version. I'll try that. Thanks.
