Razer blackwidow chroma Switches

How do the razer switches compare to a cherry mx switches, are they most like blues browns, reds? or are they unique?  if i love blues and browns will i like this keyboard?

Nothing like blues. The switches in the BW are abysmal for what you pay

The Green switches are a knockoff of Cherry MX Blue with a higher actuation point. Look elsewhere if you want a quality keyboard.

Im also interested in this, because with the 50% off sale today, the blackwidow chroma would actually be in my price range. I'm thinking of the stealth version as Jayz2cents said the actuation force felt more than 50g, and I'm not used to typing on heavy keyboards.

i disagree fully. they dont feel cheap at all and are still very good switches. just because they arent cherry MX keys means they are cheap

Yeah, but if my membran keyboards lasted the past 3 years no problem, these should be fine in the time frame I'm looking at?

I have been using their stealth keyboard since they switched over to the "Razer" mechanical switches, and I have had 0 issues with the keyboard, nor have any of the people I know who own both the green keyed Blackwidow and the green keyed Chroma.

Yeah, but I would pretty much have to pay double the price to get products from corsair, and I don't want to pay that premium for something I'm not even sure I'll like.

The blackwidow chroma stealth would be around $110CAD after the sale, so if there are other keyboards with MX switches, and the RGB functionality, then I would be sold, but so far I have not come across anything of the sorts.

Before I owned this, I used a chiclet style keyboard for my day to day typing. Which I would say was very similar to an Apple keyboard, so very light.

 

I found the move over to this keyboard quite strange, but within a week I was typing just as quick as I used to, with no misclicks. I wouldn't describe it as heavy at all. 

 

If I was to offer advice though if you go ahead and buy it, get some O-rings for the keys, it might be a personal thing but I feel as if they just make the keys "bounce" a bit more, which is nice.

The Steaths were more like Browns to my knowledge, but I could be wrong.

Yeah, I think they are suppose to be a lighter and quieter version of the standard switches.

Exactly, there is no noticeable "click" sound, but depending how hard you type, the keyboard can be loud bottoming out. Another reason to get those O-rings!

As a person who has razer products, I love them, my keyboard is just a bit old, but the black widow (granted this model has MX blues) and my Naga are amazing, I love them and would totally recommend them, and I have experience with other peripherals
