MX Blue vs Razer Green

Went to the local BestBuy and found the Razer Blackwidow Chroma in stock. I was so tempting to buy it.

Is there any difference from going from blues to Razer greens?

*don't want to wait for the blue rgb keyboard cause those are expected to ship in december according to newegg*

Some people say there is but I own an original blackwidow with mx blues and recently tried the new blackwidow there was barely a difference I think the only downside would be the lifespan as I hear they don't last as long.

Orignial MX Blue is still better I think. I'm not sure about Razer's "Gaming-Optimized Switches" that Made in China. People has been saying that they don't last long, and quality isn't that strong compare to Cherry MX switches

Hmmm so quality wise they aren't good....

But how many people are reporting poor quality? A huge majority or a minute minority.

I had a 2013 ultimate 2014 ultimate and now a chroma. There is a difference between even the 2014 and chroma even though they use they same switches. I read they are improved. It seems the chroma isn't as clicky sounding compared to the 2014 and the 2014 isn't as clicky sounding as the blue in the 2013. I personally like the chroma the most so far. I say buy it and get a protection plan from best buy. Then you have two years if it breaks to exchange it.

From what I can tell not many people yet the 2014 blackwidow didn't get many returns.

You have every right to be, it's Razer attempt to market their Kailh made switches as the gaming switch. In all likeliness, these Kailh made Razer switches are cheaper yet the BWU 2014 is sold at the same or higher prices than the Cherry MX BWU 2013 models. Razer is trying to increase their profit by going from Cherry to Kailh.

Sounds good to me ! What a pity that I don't have any of those mechanical keyboards to use in a long-term period to really see what's the real deal behind those keyboards.

Great assumption there... Kalih switches are actually quite decent to keep the cost down most manufacturers are switching to Kalih.

I'm not assuming anything I'm going off of fact, A few friends in the states got Thermaltake keyboards that have these in and the switches lasted all of 2 days before parts started coming away.

You have to face facts, China is known for sub standard cheap crap, Yes they do some good stuff but most is nasty junk.

I said Razer/Kailh switches are cheaper, whether they are of lower quality is debatable. However, I do know one thing for sure, IF I have to pay similar prices for, say, a BWU 2014 (razer switch) vs a BWU 2013/Ducky Shine 3 (Cherry MX), it'd come as no surprise which I would pick. I trust Cherry MX more than Razer switch, and would always, ALWAYS, pick Cherry MX over Razer/Kailh switches. But hey, if you're feeling adventurous, go ahead and get a Razer 2014 model keyboard.....and let us know what you think a year or two down the road.

I'm shocked no one has mentioned this but the RGB MX blue isnt out in dec, they are already released, the issue is tracking them down, most sites (including newegg.ca) have thrown 12/31/14 as their date because they simply dont know when they are going to be getting a hold of more, im shocked more people dont realize 12/31/XX isnt really ment to be taken literally, its more like a placeholder.

I have actually ordered my k70 RGB blue switches already, I think I missed the initial shipment of them, since I preordered but ya they are out there, and shouldn't be to long until they are in stock.

I went to the store and tried the Chroma myself, loved the switches. 10/10 regret getting blues and not razer switches. They have a warranty, and they have there own staff monitoring the floor of were the switches are made, i would trust it.

I don't....they can claim a lot of things, I simply have no faith in their marketing BS.

Just to disclose, I own a BWU 2013 and a Deathadder 2013.

There is currently no compelling evidence that Khail switches are inferior to Cherry switches, we can't test their lifespan since mechanical keyboards often claim lifespans of upwards of 10 years (you try hitting a key 30+ million times), and mechanical keyboards often go wrong anyway, don't believe me? I've seen many a complaint about failed Cherry switches on Corsair, CM Storm, and Thermaltake keyboards.  The only reason people do not like the BWU and the Chroma is because...well they're Razer, and since they include Khail switches in their new Chroma it must mean that customers were satisfied with the switches on their BWU'14, the bloated complaints of the BWU'14 are probably more due to this "hate on Razer because Razer" more than the actual quality of the switches which they've probably never used.  Don't get me wrong, I won't defend the switches, since I've never used them, but I'm not going to just dismiss them either.

I actually have legitimate complaints that I can back up. Also other real reasons as to why I wont buy them they just break a few things that I dont think is right.
