GIMP Beginner Guidance Needed!

Hi guys,I'm fairly new to GIMP,just having trouble with creating a line for a project design i'm currently working on.

Example of the lines i would like to achieve are as shown in the picture. Any help is appreciated :)

Use the rectangle tool to make the line. You can use guide lines (found on image > guidelines > guideline on percent or something). Make a guidlines at like 25% vertical and one at 75% vertical and your rectancle tool can snap on to those
