i5 2400/2500 vs i3 3240

Hey a quick question.. do you think it's worth upgrading i3 3240 to i5 2500 for 30$ ? i mean i paid 75$ for a used i3 but as i checked google, i5 2500 is not a whole lot faster but there are more cores.. and i can get the i5 2400 for 20$.. and please tell me how to  check which cpu is better.. since i am using CPUboss and someone said that that info is garbage... here are the links i got..

Use UserBenchmark. Anything ending in "Boss" should not be used for benchmarks.

ahh just realised the i7 is 1550 socket :'(

1150*

Can you find a 2600K for around that price? It'd be worth it if you could. But 40 USD for the i5 is also a really amazing deal.
