Guadro for solidworks?

SCR_latchup

Soo. I'm making a solidworks workstation, and I don't think quadro is a best option for that.

All i can get from forums and the actual software is that it's used just for rendering, and even with the double floating point precision (witch doesn't matter for graphics rendering) and all that other bling, I think i can get a lot better gpu for the same price.

And the realview took me 2 mins to figure out how to edit registry so i can use that.

So should i get a low power gpu or a better gpu that is 10 times more powerfull?

Get the better "gaming" gpu.

It isn't worth buying quadros over imho.

All our gpu-accelerated supercomputer clusters at work use GTX cards. (one older one uses 32 480s rofl.)

IDK if solidworks is CUDA accelerated, if it isn't get a 390. If it is, try to get a used 780/780ti/titan black.

If your budget is higher, A Fury X or 980 ti are also a good bet.

Quadros will be pretty good for rendering in SolidWorks (SW utilizes CUDA).

Intel Core i7-6700K | Corsair H105 | Asus Z170I PRO GAMING | G.Skill TridentZ Series 16GB | 950 PRO 512GB M.2

Asus GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB STRIX OC | BitFenix Prodigy (Black/Red) | XFX PRO Black Edition 850W

But not for the price is what he is saying. And it's true.

Juan Guadro?

u wan quadro?

jokes aside, if your work isnt limited/serverly hinrdered by the lack of compute performance, get a guadro or firepro you can afford.

Read these up.

TL;DR :

If using GeForce cards give significantly lower performance in Solidworks when using "Shaded w/ Edges". Otherwise, geforce cards are ok.

I personally would go for a gaming card but if you need the validation or if you have the budget i would go for the quadro.
