Xeon Core Vs. I Core

So, now I see that we have several kinds of Processor like Pentium, Core, Quart, Xeon, and I(3, 5 ,7). After I had some lecture with Mr.Google, I am in a mass of confusion now.

Can somebody declare for me the diffidence between Xeon and I products line?

Xeons are usually found in servers and editing pc's cause their high number of cores/threads but lower speed cores than the i3/5/7 series.

Xeon are made for servers while a I(3 5 7) are made for consumers

As mentioned, the biggest differences are the core count and support for components on the boards. Xeon's will give you ECC support and multi processor configurations (up to 8 CPU's per board)Xeon vs Core series CPU's go beyond the CPU performance though.Xeon product lineups are heavily validated against the software that will be used. Everything is ensured to work 100% by software vendors with the platform. Eg VMWare and HyperV qualify their products to work with certain Intel Xeon platforms.

Well some of the Xeons are definitely for servers, but if you are looking at the consumer 1150 chipsets that is not entirely true. An E3 1231v3 (good example since a lot of people use it) is basically an i7 with no iGPU and ECC support AND is often quite a bit cheaper than an i7.

Skylake Xeon E3s are more expensive than their Core i counterparts and have lower frequency.

Why? Haswell ones were cheaper and had the same frequency.
