Vapor-X > Lightning > Tri-X > PowerColor > MSI Twin Frozr IV > XFX DD > Gigabyte Windhorse > Asus

The Lightning is better than the Vapor-x, not sure what you're smoking lol.  There's a reason why lot's of reviews say it's the best 290x ever made. They overclock like absolute monsters, very rarely do you ever see one that can't do 1200+ on the stock cooler and over 1600 on mem.

The sample I had was doing 1265|1675 on air, and @KingCry 's does similar, just a bit less on memory.

I think you're forgetting the raw capabilities of the Lightning, performance wise it wins hands down with better binned chips, unlocked voltage, memory voltage, better VRM design, the list goes on and on :)

I'm talking purely cooler-wise. The chip potential on the Lightning is superior

My 290X has see 94C before, but that was with overvolting, it's normally 80-85C at full load, though it usually at 75C, which is quite good considering it's from ASUS.

Lol you must be smoking something friend so please share what ever it is. Cause the lighting cooler handles a lot of heat very well. I pushed 1.43v through my lighting and it peaked at 73C when I was benching

80-85C at full load, like in furmark, but during gaming is normally 75C.
