to be completely honest, i've been here over a year, and this is the first time i've seen anyone suggest it.

 

theres also much more detailed comparisons available on the internetz, as theres more to a processor than just whatever cinebench does.

It's for a server, not Gaming, so I don't care much.

what specificly will the server be doing? since (advanced) virtualization will pretty much be a nono on those chips, because they're not quite up to par with modern tech on that part.

they're also quite high wattage to leave running 24/7 at home, atlhough it should be mostly fine.

- floating point

- lots of VMs

- mixed int/fp

- ...

Mostly VMs and file sharing.

To be used as a file server alongside 1+ game servers if it can take it, and a max of 4VMs.
