just fixed a mac book motherboard by putting it in the oven for about 8 mins on 450C

who knows how long it will last ..but atleast I can sell it now

 

btw..if your wondering..I heard about this fix on a few sites

yeah it melts the silicone and joins it back together..

mate of mine fixed there graphics card a few times with this trick, because he didnt at the time have the money to buy a new one

When you sell it, you will be telling the buyer of this fix, yes, and informing them that the computer may not last?

 

Because if you just sell it as "used - working" without any additional details... well, that's called unethical ;)

Reflows are just temp fixes.  A full fix is reballing.  Basically, what OP did was put a band-aid on something that needs stitches.

 

reballing isn't a full fix either, the only reason it works is that it heats the gpu - it also fails after a while

it MIGHT fail after a while...I use to fix xbox 360 motehrboards and some of them lasted forever after

apple wanted like 500$ (cad) for a new motherboard for the mac....

Did you check eBay or other online used markets for used replacement boards? Sometimes you can pick them up for pennies, or you can pick up a dead machine with an otherwise good motherboard (blown/cracked screen, smashed keyboard, etc).
