Hesitating.

512GB SSD + DDR 1600

Memory speed makes NO difference in 99% of applications.

I'm probs going to build a new gaming computer soon.

Although, I'm hesitating between a 1TB 7200RPM drive + 120gb ssd with ddr3-2400 memory or a single 512gb ssd with ddr3-1600 memory

What is the best option for gaming? Thanks

Memory speed doesn't matter unless you're using that IGPU.

Unless he's trying to game on it, it still makes no difference

Depends how much storage space you need. I mean, if you frequently install programs and games, etc, then you might be restricted by an SSD. I know that I was when I only had my 256GB SSD. But since you can always add a HDD later, go for the 512GB SSD.

256GB is also fine. I've done the math and with a bit of tuning of one's habits of hoarding shit it's perfectly manageable.

RAM really shouldn't be an element here. Lower speeds are going to be fine for gaming, so regardless go for the low speed one. For storage I always use an SSD, but space is a personal choice. My build at home uses a 240GB and my school build has a 120GB. Both work, it's just a matter of if you want the breathing room. A 1TB HDD is essential for me though, and for $50 it's really hard to pass up. If you're forcing me to pick from the options go for the first one but I would reduce the RAM speed.

I use a 250GB SSD for my boot+some applications, and I have 3 users on it. I still have 50GB left over. I'd say unless you're putting lots of games on your SSD, just get a 256GB model.

Yep, this. I have experience. After moving many, many files off of the C: drive, my user is down to 6GB in size. I don't install much there, just some small applications and the Office suite from 2003. My sister's user? 27GB, and she barely uses this computer anyways. Brother's? 63GB. He installs like 500 Minecraft mods onto the C: drive, it's really annoying. Then there's other stuff (Windows, ect) which brings the C: drive to around 190GB.
